Anna McLaughlin is Hunkpapa Lakota citizen of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe. Anna grew up in the Kenel District and currently resides in the Bear Soldier District on Standing Rock. She graduated with a Bachelor’s in Psychology with a minor in American Indian Studies from Black Hills State University and a certificate in Wind Turbines from Sitting Bull College. A believer in revitalizing the Lakota Language and culture, Anna has attended the Lakota Summer Institute, learned Traditional knowledge from family and community members. She has obtained several Continuing Education Units from Sitting Bull College pertaining to Traditional/Contemporary Lakota art and medicinal medicines. A lifelong learner of the Lakota culture, Anna continues to share the knowledge she has obtained from family, community members and Sitting Bull College by teaching her friends and relatives.
